Ours began long before the first bar of soap was ever made.
Gottfried's was founded on the belief that everyday rituals deserve extraordinary care.
We believe the products people reach for every day should be crafted with intention,
perform beautifully, and bring a quiet sense of refinement to ordinary moments.
That philosophy guides every decision we make, from the ingredients we select to the
time we devote to every batch.
But that belief didn't begin in a workshop.
It began in a rose garden.
As a child, I grew up surrounded by roses. My mother loved them deeply, and caring for
them became part of my daily routine—watering, tending, and watching over plants I didn't
yet understand. At the time, it felt like a chore. Years later, that same ritual returned,
this time as a choice. What I once saw as obligation became a source of peace, creativity,
and inspiration.
Today, that lesson in patience lives at the heart of Gottfried's.
Based in Morristown, New Jersey, we craft our soaps the same way those roses were once
cared for—with patience, intention, and respect for the process. Every bar is thoughtfully
formulated, slowly cold-processed, and carefully cured because we believe true luxury
isn't created through shortcuts. It is earned through time, craftsmanship, and
uncompromising attention to detail.
What began as a lesson in patience has become a devotion to craft.
